Registration for SCC’s 2024 Kids Camps Open February 1st, 2024
What are SCC Kids Camps?
No matter what your child’s interests are on the water, they’re likely to find a kids camp that appeals to them. for the 2024 season, SCC is offering three options for kids camps.
Canoe Kids: Our classic, sought after kids camp for kids aged 6-11 who want to have a wild & wacky time on the water! Our experienced counselors introduce various paddling disciplines to kids, all the while having fun.
Regatta Ready Program: These one week camps introduce children aged 10+ to the sport of sprint canoeing and kayaking. Throughout the camp, kids learn how to balance, paddle and train in sprint kayaks and canoes. Kids will also have the opportunity to use SUP boards.
Most of these camps offer participants the opportunity to attend regattas (Paddling Races) in a non-competitive environment.
Racing Intro Program: This program is designed for inexperienced and experienced paddlers 9+ years old and introduces children to the sport of Olympic-style paddling in sprint kayaks and canoes. Paddlers are taught fundamental skills including balance, boat control, steering and other basic techniques with the primary focus on physical literacy, both on and off the water.
Available in a a 3-Season or a Summer Only session.
What is included in the cost?
Our program fees includes all coaching, counselling, safety boats and/or other safety equipment, all paddling-related equipment (i.e. PFDs, Paddles, Boats, etc..) and insurance. For our Sprint Camps, affiliation fees such as Canoe Kayak Canada [CKC] are included, competition fees are extra where applicable.
